About Us

We are Mike and Pauline. Both now retired, Mike spent some 40 years involved in Radar Research whilst Pauline was a Social Worker. As recreation we fitted out ‘Sundancer’, a Countess 33 sloop, from 1985 to 1992, sailed her from Plymouth for 10 years and then, in 2002, with no remaining family commitments, we cruised (very) leisurely along the coasts of France, Spain and Portugal, to Greece and Turkey. (www.sundancer.me.uk) In 2009 we sold ‘Sundancer’ and took up land based ‘cruising’ in a WildAx ‘Aurora’ camper van. Our choice of van was determined by the need to be small enough to drive easily and to have a permanently made up bed. During the Summer of 2010 we made several trips in UK. We made a few mods. and additions to the living space and then did our first European trip in early summer of 2011. This and trips made in following years are described in this blog. In 2018 we traded in our early Aurora for a new version of the same WildAx van and carried on touring.
